Startup Idea: Maintenance Assistance Application

Startup idea to develop a digital solution for maintenance workers in distribution centers. The program would include digitized and organized service manuals, schematics, vendor contact numbers and include a forum for technicians to share ideas and solutions. Furthermore, the software would link to the center's PLC and operating systems for speedy maintenance issue resolution.

I am a maintenance worker in a regional distribution center. There is 8 miles of conveyors and equipment that we are required to maintain and repair. At any given time we could be near the shop with all the service manuals (usually extremely disorganized)or miles away. It would be great to carry around a note book or tough talk computer with all the service manuals and schematics loaded into the computer. maybe vendor hot line numbers as well. Also a technician forum could be created to exchange ideas, issues, and anything else among the many distribution centers maintenance technicians. And it would be great if this hand held computer would be linked into the PLC and operating systems for faster solutions to maintenance issues and that would bring down times on equipment down. meaning equipment brought back into operation faster.
