Startup Idea: Mobile Application for Improved Case Tracking and Notifications
I am in the IT industry. more specifically I am the only IT personnel for a distribution center of a certain product made in our home office. As such I am responsible for help desk duties (locally) as well as networking, file servers, thin clients, PCs, et cetera. Our current case tracking and notification system is inadequate locally and I have a hard time tracking cases sometimes as they are communicated to me in different ways. The ideal would be for the clients to have an application that integrates into our current case tracking software, ServiceDesk, that would allow them to input a few descriptions of an issue and whom it affects and have that input itself within the case tracking system and alert me via a text message. As of right now, communication is lacking and not all users know how to enter cases into our current software system and a simple application that interfaces with this could help them and me out tremendously. Our company utilizes Cisco Jabber and we could possibly use this as an integration point to input case information into ServiceDesk, however a mobile application would be best as most supervisors and clients carry mobile devices readily.
