Summary for idea #1089
Startup idea to develop a user-friendly app that centralizes all community services. Users will have direct access to their local institutions, representatives, and resources, helping to foster accountability and citizen participation. I volunteer at my local neighborhood center on ocassion, and have noticed that most people in the community don't know who to turn to for problems. By problems I mean things that can be solved by an institution or a political representative. If there was a software that compiled all of the services available for a community, in an easy manner, through a simple and accesible app it could make a difference. Anything from knowing who to get in contact with about a neighborhood environmental project, a petition, request or complain, would remind you ger generations about their direct line of access to their representatives or to the services thet are avaikabke to them. If the app had an option that filtered categories, and listed everyone relevant in the person's district that could increaseaccountability and citizen participation.
