Startup Idea: Protein Interaction and Folding Analysis Software

Startup idea to build a software program that can understand and predict protein-protein interactions and folding patterns. This software should plug into existing drug modeling programs and provide insights on potential drug targets, thereby significantly accelerating drug development and effectiveness studies.

I am a drug researcher who works for a major company in the United States over the past three years. We use a some programs for 3D modeling of drugs and their effects on certain proteins.

One thing we have trouble with is finding solutions to certain diseases as we do not know how some proteins bind to others or how they fold precisely.

It is very possible for a program to know every possible way a protein can fold and interact with other proteins and which one is the correct way.

The best solution would be a fast program that can go through every type of folding pattern a protein can have and, using rules of chemistry, find out what is the most likely pattern.

This would help us to find drugs that work on certain diseases extremely quickly as we can pinpoint which drugs will actually have an effect on the molecules associated with that disease.
