Summary for idea #1123

I do journalistic writing for magazines and newspapers from time to time and there is a system called AP Style (Associated Press Style) that is required to make sure that articles are written concisely and in a standard manner between writers.

It is similar to using MLA or APA, but this particular style guide is for journalistic writing.

When I write articles, I typically use Microsoft Word to check for grammar and spelling and then I have to consult the AP style guide to ensure that my article meets standards for abbreviations, numbers, etc.

A software that I would love to see in the journalism field is an AP Style software where the software could work similarly to Microsoft Word, but instead function like the AP style guide in that it would check to ensure that your journalistic article meets the guidelines that are included in the AP Style guide book. No, I have not been successful in finding a software solution for this issue. I have not searched for this solution recently, but the last time I used the search terms, "AP Style software" or "AP Style app."

The way that I solve this issue now is that I simply manually review my articles based on the AP Style guide book, which is available online, too.
