Startup Idea: Nationwide Student Information Tracking System

Startup idea to develop a universal student information tracking system. This software would gather and store basic details about every student in the country and provide email updates to registered schools whenever there is any change of enrollment. It should aid in data tracking, student follow-up and refining business insights related to student leaning and career choices.

I work for an ELS school and we have so much information to track with multiple programs to track it in. One item we do not have however is once the student leaves our school. We are supposed to report if a student goes to college but if they do not go to college until a few months after they leave our school, we have no way of knowing this. A helpful piece of software would be if there was one system for EVERY student in the country where all schools had access too. Perhaps it would be very basic information like name, age, birthday, country, school information. Every time the student signed up for a new school, it would send a mass e-mail to any other school they went to that registered that student. Something like this would help us so much to follow up with students and even help the actual business out to see what knowledge the students are receiving, what majors they go into. There is nothing that I know of to do this. It would take power beyond my understanding to create something like this.
