Startup Idea: Volume Regulating Software for Television Content

Startup idea to develop a program that intelligently adjusts the volume of various elements in television broadcasts such as music, dialogue, explosions and commercials based on predetermined decibel level. This software aims to normalize the volume across the entire duration of a program, eliminating sudden volume spikes.

I work for a television company, the name of which I can not disclose. A common problem/ complaint we have with our products are that during movies and commercials there are times when the music, or commercials for television is much louder than dialogue, or the program they were viewing. What this leads to is the user having to constantly turn the tv up and down to compensate for how loud they want everything to be. My proposition is a program which regulates the volume by a decibel level, rather than a normal volume system. What it SHOULD do is effectively change the volume of music, explosions, and commercials to compensate for the change in the film. This will keep the sound at the same level throughout the entire program.
