Startup Idea: Progressive Learning Path Curator Web/Mobile App

Summary for idea #1214
Startup idea to develop a web/mobile application that curates and presents a progressive 'learning path' of resources (articles, videos, tutorials) for users interested in learning new concepts, skills, or technologies. It should not only simplify the search process for suitable resources but also help users track their progress in learning.

I like to learn new things, mainly tech related. So for example I want to quickly get up to speed on Office 365, or PowerShell, I might want to learn the basics of Spanish, how to become competent in using a certain piece of software etc.

The problem is that before I can even begin to learn there is a lot of time that needs to be spent finding useful resources (videos, articles, tutorials) and often when I locate an article it bring up more questions, normally because it is more advanced than my current understanding.

So ideally there would be some sort of webapp/mobile app where I could select something I'd like to learn and it generates a "learning path" for me, starting from beginner topics and gradually stepping up in complexity and breadth. The idea would not be to create this content but to curate or collect it and present it as links to resources, perhaps with a brief summary of what will be learnt.

There could also be multiple paths for each learning task that can be connected in a some sort of matrix so that you could go from for example HTML ->CSS->Photoshop->GIMP etc.

Basically to be able to rapidly learn a topic without all the wasted time searching for articles, videos, etc. and to track my progress so I don't get lost with what I've done/not done yet. I have tried various search terms:

Learning path How to quickly learn x Online Learning matrix

I solve the problem currently by doing the research myself and collating a list of articles, videos etc., work through them and then further research when I come across something that requires prior knowledge. This adds a lot of time to my professional learning/development.
