Startup Idea: Public Amenities Finder App

Startup idea to develop a global or localized app that helps travellers easily find and review public amenities such as rest stops, parks, water fountains, and public bathrooms. The app will include maps, reviews and ratings, making it a useful guide for eco-friendly and safety-conscious travelling. Most of the data will be crowd-sourced.

When traveling it is difficult to find public amenities. In the states, where are the interstate rest stops? What services to they have? This one might have nice picnic tables, but the next one has a closed in dog park. Those things help me make choices.

In the cities where are the public bathrooms, parks, and water fountains. An app with maps and reviews and ratings would be great. This is a very green and eco friendly way to travel, it would be interesting to try to bring more attention to the amenities that already exist so that more people could use them and it could be largely crowd sourced.

This would also be really useful in Europe. Where are places with benches in Rome? Where can I refill my water bottle? Where am I least likely to get mugged?

This could be very localized, or global.
