Startup Idea: Software Solution for Inter-instrument Communication in Analytical Labs

Startup idea to create a unified software solution that enables different analytical instruments in a lab, even from different manufacturers, to communicate and coordinate their operations. This prevents samples from being used prematurely, increasing efficiency and saving resources.

I am employed in a production analytical lab, which conducts analysis of petroleum based products. The lab contains several different instruments, which each generate a specific data point.

A pain point I experience is that the different instruments are unable to "talk" to each other. At times this results in a sample being consumed prior to analysis being conducted on an instrument which consumes a majority of sample volume.

I would pay for software which could resolve my pain point

The software would prohibit one instrument from processing a sample if another type of analysis has not yet been completed. This would be possible across multiple instruments, built by different manufacturers.
