Startup Idea: Eco-friendly Local Business Locator App

Startup idea to develop a geotag-based mobile application that locates and categorizes 'Green' or eco-friendly, small or locally owned businesses in the user's vicinity. Ranging from restaurants to hotels to car rental services, the app would aid users in making sustainable choices, regardless of their location.

I wish that there was a way to easily find all of the eco-friendly restaurants and business in my location, based by geotag. I would love to have an app that would let me know wherever I am, what businesses are around me that are a small or locally owned business and also meet criteria for being "Green" or "eco-friendly". I wish that I could find it also by category. So for example, if I go up to D.C. and decide I am hungry I could have it locate the neighborhood I am in, choose restaurants, and then have it find sustainable and eco-friendly restaurants near me. Or if I wanted to find a hotel that was locally owned and environmentally friendly, or rent a hybrid or electric car, etc.
