Currently, I work for one of the largest hotel chains in the US. It seems to me that our hotel software is not user friendly, and often has error messages that make it very difficult to navigate.

For example, the system updates once per week, and during the update times, all actions must be "pushed through" manually, which means a lot of extra clicking and fighting with the system in order to do simple tasks, such as checking in a guest.

Additionally, it would be nice to have more of a visual for room placements. Often we place our "loyalty" members in their preferred rooms first, but that process is currently quite exhausting, as we have to open each reservation to see if they have special requests and preferences. Also, the software does not show a map of the hotel, which would be cool for assigning rooms rather than just choosing a room number.
