Startup Idea: Academic Spellcheck and Advanced Word Processing Software

Startup idea to design a specialized spellcheck program for academics, particularly useful for writers and editors working with scientific or social scientific documents. The idea further includes developing a powerful word processing tool capable of handling extensive documents (100,000+ words) more efficiently than existing tools like Word.

I am a writer/editor. I am self-employed and have all the work I could possibly want. I edit lots of dissertations and some of these documents contain vocabulary not included in my usual spellcheck. Is there a product like spellcheck for academics? This would be especially useful for publications that I am editing for scientists or social scientists. Also is there a better program to use than Word? Some of the dissertations are over 100,000 words and Word was really made for shorter documents.

I would love to find products that would help me work more quickly. Right now if a word is tagged by spellcheck, but I feel certain that it is a word, I have to look the word up in a traditional dictionary and then add it to the computer dictionary.Sometimes the word is not in the traditional dictionary, even though I have a brand new one, because the research that has gone into the dissertation is dealing with new concepts.
