I am an IT Field Service Manager and I have a team of 14 technicians that work between 400 - 500 miles away from my office. The technicians are supposed to visit each of the sites they are responsible for once a week. Currently, we have a system that will allow them to check in via GPS once they get to the site to show that they are on site. However, it is possible for them just to show up onsite and "check in" and then just leave. It is also possible for them to "spoof" the GPS coordinates and not even show up. Contacting the site's management for verification that the tech was actually there is unreliable since a lot of times, the sites are busy and management do not see the tech. Each site has WiFi available through our access points so I would like to have an app that can be used from a smartphone or a program that can be used from a laptop that will check in through the access points instead of GPS and will also tell me when they leave the area. As a bonus, it would be great if it did it automatically so the technician didn't have to worry about actually checking in as people sometimes forget. I have tried finding a program like this that would work with ServiceNow ticket logging system to no avail.
