Startup Idea: Customizable Filter Interface for Amazon Mechanical Turk

Startup idea to develop a software program that allows users of Amazon Mechanical Turk to customize and filter their interface more effectively. The program would provide a wider range of filters including range-based rewards filter, requester filtering and others for a more user-friendly navigation and swift task acceptance.

I think a very useful program would be one with which a person could effectively filter and customize the interface of Amazon Mechanical Turk. As it is now, the choices for filtering are extremely limited. For instance, on the “rewards” filter we can only filter high-to-low or low-to-high. I would find it extremely useful to filter within a specific range. Such as, at least $1.00 (which is already available) but no more than $3.00. The higher-paying HITS are attractive if it is one I choose to do or am qualified for, but most of those higher level hits are transcription services which I am not interested in. I would also like a way to filter out certain requesters. For instance, there is a very prolific requester who offers HITs that would require me to use a web cam and microphone. I would like to be able to “hide” that requester so that I no longer see his HITs, until I might choose to see them at a later date. The ability to access a wider range of customized filters would reduce the number of HITs I have to scroll through to find the ones I want to do. This, in turn, would enable me to more quickly accept HITs. This would be an advantage because accepting HITs is very competitive, and it is crucial to accept a HIT before someone else does. I have searched through online forums dedicated to AMT, hoping that someone has created something like this. I don't solve this problem now, because I can't figure out a way to.
