Startup Idea: Order Pickup Management Software for Small Businesses

Startup idea to develop a software for small businesses, specifically in promotional products industry, to ease order pick ups. This software would have a numerical pin system which customers would enter upon picking their orders, marking them as fulfilled automatically.

I am a assistant to a sales representative for a promotional products industry. We are a small company and have about 15 employees , and I have worked there for about a year. We have a lot of different products coming and going, since we sell a wide variety of products and work as a middle man between factories and our clients.

Because we have some many things coming into our business at a fast rate, sometimes things can get unorganized. Also, there are not a lot of employees in our company, so there are not really any extra people to do small tasks, such as record when customers come in to pick up their orders. Often, local customers come in in person to pick up their orders instead of letting us ship them out. This can cause quite a bit of confusion.

I would be great to have software where customers could enter some kind of numerical pin into our computer that would record when they picked up their orders. Ideally, this software would recognize the customer, and mark the order as fulfilled. I have not tried finding a solution.
