Startup Idea: Facial Recognition Software for Retail Customer Tracking

Startup idea to develop a solution that identifies and tracks returning customers in retail stores using existing security camera feeds, reducing the need for manual management and providing valuable data for decision-making.

I work as a manager in a retail store. One problem I have is tracking returning customers. Other than interacting with customers directly, it is difficult to know how much of our business is returning or new customers.

One way is to get them to sign up for a membership of some sort, but that only works with the small fraction that takes up membership.

Another is to have new customers fill out information so we can track the new customers and as a result figure out who could be returning customers, but I don't like wasting my customers time and would like a way to track returning customers without any inconvenience for them.

Maybe software that can work with my security cameras to keep track of customers and give me data that can help me make decisions in how to manage better.
