Startup Idea: Financial Data Calculator Software

Startup idea to develop a software tool that allows financial professionals to easily calculate sums and percentages from large amounts of pasted financial data, ignoring symbols and non-numeric characters. The proposed 'Copy and Paste Calculator' aims to provide a time-efficient solution for manual data computation.

I work in finance as the executive assistant to the CEO and multiple financial advisers.

Multiple times throughout the day, I have to manually enter large amounts of financial data and then add them up and calculate percentages based on the categories. I have yet to find a calculator where I can copy and paste my data in, and have it ignore symbols ($) and text, and just give me the sum of the items. Excel does not work well for this because of the way the data is pasted. Below is an example:

Growth: $25,000 First Eagle Fund of America International: $25,000 Harbor International Growth and Income: $25,000 Metro West Total Return Fixed Income: $25,000 American Cent. Equity Income

The total is $100,000 and each category is worth 25%.

I would pay a marginal amount for this software, as it would come out of my own pocket rather than my company's.

The software would help free up time for what is a simple, but time consuming part of my day. Yes. "Copy and Paste calculator." Right now I just manually do everything.
