Startup Idea: Inventory Management Software Development

Startup idea to design a sophisticated, real-time inventory management software for the retail trade. The software needs to be capable of keeping up to date with new sales and stock entries while accurately tracking all items in stock.

I work in retail trade and we have a warehouse in the back. Often times we think we are out of one thing or have a large amount of another and it doesn't end up being the case.

We have some software right now for our stock but it does not seem to work properly. It doesn't seem to keep up to date with new sales or new stock coming in very well.

Recently we missed out on being able to sell one of the higher value items in our store because we didn't think we had the right size. 2 days after the lady had left we ended up finding out that it had been placed in the wrong location, and since the software told us we didn't have any in stock we didn't think to look around.

So if there was a better way to keep track of all stock on hand that would really help.
