Startup Idea: Automating Data Collection and Organization from US Government Sources
I spend a lot of time collecting data from US goverment sources for my work. I am good with Excel but not good at scraping. I know smple programming commands like IF statements and such, but nothing complex.
Often times what I do involves opening up pages that are very similar and copying information into excel sheets. Or, sometimes I can download the data to csv directly. Either way it is repetitive. It is repetitive to download the same info over and over. It is also tough to combine excel sheets into one.
I have looked online and there are osme custom solutions which are very expensive and there are siome tools but they seem complex. What I am doing is very simple, and maybe could be helped with clever programmers. If it was like 100 dollars per site it would be useful, as it takes me many hours but I imagine a custom tool could solve it much quicker.
