Startup Idea: Parking Permit Verification System

Startup idea to develop a software program or mobile application for automatic verification of parking permits based on car license plate number. This will streamline the process for both parking officers and permit-holding employees, avoiding unnecessary ticketing and appeal procedures.

I work at a company that has a parking lot where employees have to pay a monthly fee in exchange for a parking permit that they display in their car. The problem is that sometimes I forget to put my permit/badge and then I get a ticket. After getting the ticket, then I have to submit an appeal with my permit number and then hopefully they will dismiss my ticket.

My suggestion is to develop a software program or application where the parking officers can simply enter the car license plate number and can verify immediately that the car belongs to an employee who currently has a parking permit for that car. This will save a lot of time for the police department to issue the ticket and then have to waive the ticket after the appeal is received. It also saves time for the employee who has to fill out the appeal form and submit the appeal.
