Startup Idea: Employee Performance Tracking System for Retail Stores

Summary for idea #1701
Startup idea to develop a software that tracks the profitability of a retail store based on the employees working over a certain period. The program can identify the correlation between the set of employees working on a particular day and the total sales number, providing data-driven insights into their individual and collective performance.

I work in a cell phone store selling cell phones. A big problem we have is in gauging how effective the workers are and to see how much they themselves govern the profitability of the store. So if worker A is left in charge of the store on Monday, and worker B is his subordinate, it is difficult to look at the volume of store sales and understand how much the workers are making a difference. Sadly this has caused bosses to hire based on personality and charm and not sales ability. I do great with clients, but am not bubbly, and I feel this has hurt me.

So the program would track the stores profitability based on employees over a set period of time. It would be easy to enter the employees working that day and total sales number. And then over time, the profitabilty of the store could be decided based on who is working, so who is the best employee would be proven. In a store with 15 people working at once, it is too difficult to find out without a program.
