Startup Idea: Restaurant Automation System Development

Startup idea to develop a software system for iPads that automates food ordering in restaurants. The software should allow patrons to customize orders based on dietary needs, make payments, tip, and request additional services. The system interface should also be user-friendly for restaurant staff to add or update dishes frequently.

I work in the food service industry and am scared about the upcoming $15/hr minimum wage increase.

I'd like to replace the majority of servers with an iPad at each table, but don't have the experience to code a system that would be easy for someone to add dishes and keep updated with new dishes.

It would also need to have the ability for patrons to change their order based on their dietary needs.

Finally, they'd have to be able to pay, tip and ask for things like water, cleanup, etc from the same system.

I'd like it to be on an iPad because it'd need to be cheap enough to put one at every table.
