Startup idea to develop smart software that tracks employees' productivity by monitoring the time spent on individual applications. The software aims to automate timesheet entries by logging 'productive' time, eliminating the need for manual logging by employees daily.

My workplace has a very idiotic behavior of tracking their employees work hours by the actual effort they put into their jobs. Which means, we have to log hours in our timesheets against the actual task we did and for how long. There is no software that actually monitors the actual work we do in the background and collects this information. Since our tasks pertain to certain applications, it is easy to track the amount of 'productive' time we spend on an application and enter that as a log in our timesheets, rather than us signing in manually every day and saying - 'We worked on Python for 2 hours.' A firm which needs to track employee work hours so extensively for efficiency and process improvements, must focus on automating timesheet entry first.
