Startup Idea: Quality Tracking Software for Refurbishing Industries

Startup idea to develop a software program that enhances accountability in the refurbishing industry by tracking individual work quality. The software could subtract low-quality or rejected work from operators' daily quotas, encouraging higher quality standards for refurbishing consumer goods, like cell phones.

I work in an industry that involves refurbishing cell phones that were traded in by customers. We then give the cell phones back to Company A and they resell them. We clean, test, and even repair broken cell phones for Company A.

A big pain point in my daily work is how easy it is for associates to allow poor work go through the assembly line. This is because the computer software program, CWORK, does not hold them accountable for work that is rejected by Quality Assurance associates. I believe my company would pay for a program that could target the associates doing the poor quality work. If the software would SUBTRACT the poor work from the associate's DAILY QUOTA, then the associate would be more motivated to send high quality work. Otherwise, their quota would suffer and they could be terminated.

For example: an associate sends a phone with cracked housing down the assembly line. They scan in the bar code and receive one (1) point towards their quota of one hundred (100) phones. The QA associates receive this phone and know it cannot go further down the line because of its cracked housing. Therefore, they scan the phone as a "FAIL". Then, the associate whom the phone belongs to, gets a negative one (-1) point for this phone.
