Startup Idea: Automated Council Tax Band Verification Software

Startup idea to develop a software that automates the process of checking property addresses against a government website to determine council tax band. The software will compare the band with a pre-defined set of figures to ascertain correct band allocation based on 2003 sales figures.

I am a claims manager for a small council tax refund company. We have a data set that consists of addresses and 2003 sales figures for these addresses.

We have to check each address against this website: http://cti.voa.gov.uk/cti/inits.asp in order to find out what it's council tax band is.

We then have to check each sale figure against a pre-defined set of figures in order to determine which council tax band this property should have been allocated and whether it is higher or lower than the one we extracted from the above mentioned website.

The pre defined set of criteria are as follows: Band Value A up to 44,000 B 44,001 to 65,000 C 65,001 to 91,000 D 91,001 to 123,000 E 123,001 to 162,000 F 162,001 to 223,000 G 223,001 to 324,000 H 324,001 to 424,000 I more than 424,000

If this process could be automated we would certainly be happy to pay for the resulting software.
