Startup Idea: Automated Sign Printing Solution for Retail

Startup idea to develop a software that automates the sale sign creation process in retail stores. The software would source item information from a database, updated via a mobile tracking system, to generate item signs carrying the price, item name, description, and sale date.

I am a customer service representative for a retail store, AC Moore. I also do a lot of work on the floor, such as price changes, making signs, and putting away freight.

At the moment, we spend a lot of time making our own sale signs (up to 50 a day) for items on sale that day. We must manually enter a lot of information to make the sign.

I think we'd save much more time if there was a program that automated the sign print by inputting prices, the item name, description, and sale date.

A database would be a good start, and then a program that updates the database from our mobile tracking system and enters the information into excel.
