I work in pharmaceuticals. My friend (who I work with) recently created a business with the intent of exploring new market possibilities pharmaceuticals. However, he has struggled with trying to figure out which drugs are legal and which are controlled in different countries around the world. For example, Adderall is a common prescription medication in the United States but in many countries is completely banned. There is no straightforward and easy to use database for finding which substances are controlled or banned in different countries around the world. I feel like a software developer or small group of developers could organize this information into a central location and present it effectively. Not only would this be beneficial for people in my industry, it could be useful for travelers trying to manage their medications when planning vacations. I am surprised that such a resource does not exist but I see it being a potential project for someone with programming experience (which I do not have!).
