Startup Idea: Light Pollution Tracking App for Astronomers

Summary for idea #1830
Startup idea to develop an app that helps astronomers find the darkest night skies in their local area by tracking and showing real-time light pollution data. The app would also provide useful weather information such as humidity, dew points, and wind directions.

I'm an avid astronomer and many times, I'd like to know where the darkest night skies are in my local area. This involves seeing where the light pollution is and the only way I can check it now is by going on my laptop to various science webpages that show that info. The app could work by location and also show current weather conditions including humidity, dew points and wind directions. An app like this would be very popular with many astronomers and others I'm sure. I'm not aware of any app that shows specifically light pollution. Yes, I've checked the Android app store and searched light pollution but the apps provided are very weak and unreliable. As stated above, I would need to check on my laptop just before going out but the conditions change insofar as winds, dew points and humidty. Yes, any weather app can provide that info but one that focuses on light pollution would be beneficial.
