Startup Idea: Allergy-Friendly Shopping Aid Application

Startup idea to develop a software geared towards aiding individuals with food allergies. The software would ideally be able to scan, categorize, and remember preferences for purchased items, and help determine if those items are allergy-free for the particular user. It could also prompt user ratings to remember liking or disliking certain items, and aid in reshopping.

I have food allergies. Every meal or item I buy at the store, I must read the label and/or ask each time.

Asking is a must!

But going to the store it is hard to memorize what I thought was good or bad tasting food.

There is already enough on my mind checking for what I can have or not.

So, I have not been successful finding a software that:

• Can scan my bought items into categorizes or allow the user to categorize
• Classify those items are allergy free (per my need, not by the software)
• Have the software ask if I liked those items (there have been times I forgot I did not like the item and bought it again)
• While at the store, re-scan the items to see if I bought them
• liked them or have not bought, or did not like.

The user still has to verify that the product is safe, but having collected the data and recalling it would save time for the user in the long run.
