Startup Idea: Automated Employee Schedule Management System

Startup idea to develop a software that automates the schedule management for fast food restaurants. This system should track employee availability, adhere to each employee's preferred number of work hours and fulfil the labor requirements for specific days of the week, thus streamlining the scheduling process and preventing errors.

I work for a fast food restaurant that has around 30 employees all with varying availabilities and schedules. Currently, a handwritten system is used where employees states their available days and hours to work and maximum preferred working hours. A manager (which rotates) by hand has to analyze every worker's availability and compare that to what labor requirements are for each given day of the week and schedule accordingly. This leads to inconsistent labor percentages, employee availability errors (such as working too many or too few hours), and increased schedule planning time. These factors often lead to delayed schedules for the employees.

A system that could track employee availability in addition to business needs would be ideal. If there was some sort of way to calculate a schedule that includes the proper amount of hours for each employee given their availability would be fantastic!.
