Startup Idea: Real Estate Analysis Software for Targeted Marketing

Summary for idea #1876
Startup idea to develop a software that analyzes, collects and displays on a map the locations of recently sold or rented homes and apartments within a specific radius in the Los Angeles area. The information will be mined from real estate websites like Apartments.Com, Zillow, and Redfin, and is aimed at helping a custom wood furniture company to target their sales efforts towards new tenants, who account for the majority of their customer base.

I work with a company that sells custom made wood furniture in the Los Angeles area. We transport our items to various flea markets and "yard sale" events throughout the city. We've found that 75% of our sales are to new tenants and people who have just moved in rather than folks just replacing old furniture. We believe this is the case because we sell unique and odd pieces that tend to need to have the room designed around them.

That being the case, we have been trying to pinpoint locations to sell near which have a high number of recently-moved-into homes and apartments. We've been mapping home and apartment sales in the area and trying to set up shop at sales and markets near those areas. We've been manually viewing sites like Apartments.Com, Zillow, Redfin, etc. It would be fantastic if software could analyze and collect this information for us and put it together on a map. Ideally it would be amazing to have a software that pulled from all of these sites, put pins in the map, and selected a radius of an area that is central to recently sold homes or apartments, so that we could look for sales in that specific radius in hopes of connecting with as many new tenants and potential buyers as possibl.
