Startup Idea: Payment System Check Up Software

Startup idea to develop a software that prompts whether a credit card processing machine is functioning properly before a card is swiped. The software also needs to provide a backup system when the connection is not good.

My husband is a restaurant owner. We are having the hardest time with our credit card processing machine from world pay. There needs to be a way that tells us if the machine is working before we swipe the card. People get all freaked out when you swipe their card and it does not go through. They think you are going to steal their money. If you just have something stating that the connection is good. And if it is not have a back up system. We have trouble nonstop with World Pay...but my husband is frugal and likes them because they are cheap. We have tried asking for something like that.
