I work in investor relations and am a financial analyst, something that would be very useful is an easy way to upload all competitor information during earnings calls every quarter.

It is really painful to have to keep track of the reporting dates of all of our peers and then go to their IR websites to look at the press release and then pick out the data such at EPS, comparable sales, and other things such as gross margin, sg&a expenses and just general information on what happened for their business during the quarter. Sometimes we can't even get the information we need from the press releases and will have to sift through their entire earnings call transcript which is even a bigger pain.

What would be amazing is if you could upload a set list of all the companies to keep track of and then all the metrics you want to measure and then they are automatically uploaded one the company has reported their earnings so you don't have to do it manually and risk forgetting the date that they report and look that up too.

The entire nature of our department is dependent on knowing what is going on in the general industry landscape and especially with our peers to benchmark how we are doing to relay on to our executive teams and our investors. Have used services that have the information available but nothing can automate the process.
