Startup idea to build a software tool that aids freelance writers, editors, and website designers in tracking current assignments and identifying new work opportunities. The proposed application would combine a personal calendar with data mined from job sites, matching users with potential assignments that fit their calendar and qualifications.

I am a freelance writer, editor and website designer. What I need is an effective software tool that helps be both track assignments but also find opportunities for new work. I can track current assignments with a simple spreadsheet, but that doesn't help me find new work. I can find new opportunities by contact existing clients, searching the web, or using services like FlexJobs or Upwork, but that means I have to actively visit these. Ideally, I would have an application that would allow me to see what assignments I have and their deadlines, and coordinate that information with other opportunities that a software application could find by mining data from other sites. For example, my work and deadline calendar could be searched for openings, and then the app could search sites such as FlexJobs or Upwork and find potential new assignments for me that fit my qualifications and my calendar. This would allow me to more quickly and effectively find assignments. I would be willing to pay a monthly subscription for a service like this, probably in the area of $10 per month. I use a simple Excel spreadsheet now.
