Startup Idea: Mobile Application for Independent Truckers

Startup idea to develop a ride-sharing styled mobile app specifically designed for independent truckers. This application will allow clients to post loads directly to drivers, overlay job info over maps for logistical planning, track mileage, log driving times, fuel costs, rest times, and notify drivers of new jobs available in close proximity in real-time to reduce job downtime.

I am an independant over the road trucker. Currently we find work through message boards and through private freight brokerage firms, such as TQL (Total Quality Logistics). Software, especially for mobile platforms to allow clients to post their loads so they are directly available for independant drivers would be invaluable.

If the information could be overlaid on a map like google maps to better plan logistics would be amazing. Something similar to current ride share programs like Lyft and Uber, except for independant truckers to find work.

If the application could track mileage and automatically log drive times, fuel costs, rest times, and even notify you when new jobs are available in proximity to where you will be when they are needing to be picked up would be invaluable in reducing downtime between jobs.
