Startup Idea: Restaurant Ordering and Payment Software for Tablets

Startup idea to develop a software that would allow restaurant servers to take orders, print receipts and accept payments directly on a tablet device. This solution would reduce time spent waiting for available computers in busy dining settings and improve overall service efficiency.

I work in the restaurant industry as a server. One of the biggest issues I run into invloves limited cmputers for too may servers. If software could be developed for each server to carry an ipad or equivalent on which they could place orders that are sent directly to the kitchen that would help resolve restaurant issues tremdously when it comes to time waited for computers opening up. This software ideally would be able to be directly put on existing devices such as ipads and from there the server should be able to enter everything from drinks to food, print recipts to a separte printer and possibly have the capabilities to accept payments on the device as well. This would have to begin in smaller restaurants but as bugs were worked out it could be expanded. No, I worked in a large corporation and do not have the ability to pitch such ideas. As of now we just have to wait for computers to open up.
