Startup Idea: Cloud-Based Medical Device Quality Assurance and Regulatory Tracking Software
I work in the medical device industry. I am part of the Quality assurance and regulatory team and have two people who report to me.
Timelines and tracking files are a huge issue with in our field. We need to know when complaints are reported, when reportable issues are due, when pending licensing submissions are due, when significant changes to devices have been made (as these need to be reported also).
The issue is right now we use excel spreadsheets, and Outlook to track issues. The main problem with this is the spreadsheets are on shared drives, and outlook can only be accessed on secure networks. The issue is that it is very difficult to track notifications and specific tasks, if we are ever away from our desks.
What we would like to see is a central database that we can access from anywhere, we have been looking into mobile platforms, however we find their functionality limited compared to other comparable pc programs.
Also if we could have something with the notification and message tracking of Outlook and the data crunching capabilities of excel, we would be most satisfied. Using a single program over 2 different ones, would save so much time.
