Startup Idea: HVAC Inventory Management Software

Startup idea to develop an efficient computerized inventory system suitable for a small HVAC company. The software should be able to track parts inventory, indicate when supplies are low and allow for online ordering of needed parts.

I work for a small HVAC company with 5 guys, 3 trucks, and 1 boss that sits on his ass. Our inventory system is nonexistent. Our trucks could really use computerized inventory system because we don't keep track of what parts we have, what we're low on, and what we need for a particular job. Most of the time we need to make a Home depot run in the middle of a job. It's a total mess. We have a computer at the boss' house that we use to print up flyers, but it could be used to manage our inventory. We don't have the right software for it. It would be even better if we could use the software to order the parts online and have them delivered instead of going to Home Depot to pick up what we need. One of our guys is very computer skilled so he could do it no problem if the boss told him to.
