Startup Idea: Professional Hair Color Formulation Software

Summary for idea #214
Startup idea to develop a software tool specifically for hair style professionals. The software would feature a comprehensive database of professional color brands, swatches, and natural hair color tones, enabling stylists to mix any colors and visualize the probable outcome before applying on client's hair. An exclusive professional tool to enhance efficacy and client communication in the beauty industry.

I am a cosmetologist that has been in the beauty industry for two years now.

One of the biggest money making services in the beauty industry is giving clients "Vivid" hair. I am someone who is visual, and I like to see what certain colors mixed would look like.

The issue I have come across, is that the tools stylists have now to visually formulate colors WITHOUT having to spend extra money, are simple color wheels that don't allow you to mix secondary colors together, or are apps created by a single brand, and those consist of you uploading a photo and then the hair being BADLY photoshopped with a color to see how it would look on your current color.

I think the solution to this, would be a software that would allow you select any colors needed for a formulation based off a database of professional color brands and their swatches and natural hair color levels and tones, to visually get a better idea of what you may get. I think it would be incredibly beneficial to professionals.

But I also think it would have to be available ONLY to professionals so the industry doesn't cheapen.

This also would help us communicate the probable color outcome to our clients too, as we can then visually show them what will most likely be their color, as some clients don't visualize the same color we describe to them.

The main brands that would definitely be helpful in this app, would be brands like Joico, Pravana, Goldwell, Toni & Guy, Wella, and Kenra. I know this seems like a niche software, but you would be surprised how many people would pay for this. Even the best hairstylists I know need reassurance visually with color formulations.
