Startup Idea: Sports Betting Data Scraping Software

Summary for idea #215
Startup idea to develop a software that scrapes live data from odds services for different sportsbooks, tracking line movements and juice. The software exports this data to a spreadsheet for analysis and pattern recognition for making optimal bets.

I frequently bet on sports games, and I would definitely pay (being a bit technologically deficient in this area) for the following: software that went to an "odds service" (a website that tracks line movements on a dozen or so of the bigger sportsbooks online) such as www.sbrodds.com and scrapes the data and exports it to a spreadsheet.

The software would need to scrape the lines as they occur. the main sites I (and probably many other gamblers) would like to have data on are: 5dimes, pinnacle sports, sportsbook.ag, bookmaker, DSI and bovada each of those sites are tracked, and every time either the juice (the amount a bettor has to wager, usually meant to balance bets on either side so that the site always wins) or the pointspread moves due to wagers coming in on one side, sbrodds records it.

Over time, you can start to see patterns in the way lines/juice move and can use it to make your bets at the most optimal time (it's a bit more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it).

Finally, if software could export all of this data to a spreadsheet that's set up to track all of this...I would definitely pay for that.

Hopefully this makes sense, if you're not a gambler it may not. some helpful terms to google may be "chasing steam in gambling" and/or "tracking line movements in sports gambling".
