Startup Idea: Specialty Data Mining Software for Publishing Media

Startup idea to develop a specialized data mining software for publishers which can analyse trends across all public sources. This tool would help identify and rank niche subject areas gaining interest among the public by tracking keywords, media sources and usage growth rates. The system would also offer visual results for a quick overview and the ability to enter custom keywords or general topics.

I'd like specialty data mining software for publishing information media.

If I want to publish an article or book, I can find keyword (word or phrase) search results, check Amazon best sellers, or browse forums and social media for hot topics.

But this is less than optimum and it's hard to judge trends or spot the small but growing subjects of interest.

What I'm trying to find is the specific subjects that people are currently most interested in. Not broad topics like weight loss or making money. But narrow areas like weight loss for post-pregnant women who are older than 35.

People buy what they're interested in and so the challenge is to get as close to their ideal interest as possible.

What I'd like is to see is topic trends across all public sources including such things total keyword mentions, the media where it was mentioned, the usage growth rate, and when the keyword was first found.

I would be able to enter keywords or general topics to look for in addition to the program showing related subjects.

The program would allow me to rank the keywords or topics by any of the selected crieria. It would also provide visual results for a quick overview.

Would I pay for software that did this? Yes, unless I come up with it myself, because I've been thinking about this for some time.
