Startup Idea: PDF Optimization and Sharing Software for Research Students

Summary for idea #2191
Startup idea to build a software that allows research students to upload a PDF document, having it automatically reorient, OCR and clean the text, and share it to the desired account. The software should store all documents in a database for future use. This solution aims to consolidate multiple apps into one comprehensive solution for easier reading, printing, and sharing of research papers.

I'm a Ph.D. student who has to work on research projects for a mentor while also taking classes, and one of the biggest pains for me on a regular basis is having to read pdf documents that were badly scanned from books. Many of them are oriented in the wrong direction, are grainy and hard to look at, and can't be searched for content. Additionally, it is a pain to print hundreds of pages and carry them around in order to read and highlight. I bought a tablet to read them easier, but while this helps with the printing issue, it doesn't automatically clean up the documents, reorient them, or reflow the text so that it is easier to read on the tablet, and I don't have one program that will do all of these things and send the document to my kindle or ereader. I have multiple apps that kind of help to tackle one problem or another, but not all of them collectively. What I would like is to simply upload a pdf to a program, have it reorient and OCR and clean the text, and automatically share it to whatever account I've requested the document be sent to, while saving everything to a database of documents that I can look through again in the future. In the meantime, I'm stuck using pdf cleaners, Mendeley, email, kindle apps, and various other programs that butcher the original text. Maybe you can do better?.
