Startup idea to develop an affordable and user-friendly smartphone (iOS and Android) application to automate and control bedroom lights. The application should not involve intricate hardware setups like Raspberry Pi, making it practical for everyday use.

An cheap affordable solution to automate the lights of my bedroom and control them using iPhone or Android Phone. Not expensive, but cheap, practical and affordable. Not to complicated like most of them ask you to build one using Raspberry Pi. Bah! That's too complicated. Something easy, and affordable for a day to day use.
