Startup Idea: Software Integration for Home Automation Products

Startup idea to develop a unifying software interface that allows embedded software developers to easily extend their home automation projects across different products. Project's existing code for one kind of home automation product would be recognizable to other products, simplifying the development process and enhancing marketability.

I am an embedded software developer. I am developing in C programming language. Currently most popular is home automations applications.

It would be great if there would be a software integration for all home automation products where you as a developer can easier expand you project and that existing code for one kind of home automation product can be recognized for home automation for the other product.
