Startup Idea: Donor Assessment and Forecasting Software for Fundraisers

Startup idea to create a software that automates the process of assigning prospective donor value in fundraising. The software should use an algorithm to analyze variables like giving history, capacity and inclination to generate realistic donation levels, aiding in accurate forecasting of fiscal year numbers.

I work as a fundraiser and I spend the vast majority of my day manually manipulating excel spreadsheets. One aspect of the job is assessing the giving capacity of prospects that encompasses not only their financial ability but also their inclination towards supporting the cause. In order to properly solicit these prospects we assign a dollar value to their record which we feel is indicative of what level they will be supporting at in the current fiscal year. We normally base this number off of data variables such as past giving over course of five years. I would love to see software that uses an algorithm to look at giving history, giving capacity, and inclination to derive realistically set ask levels to best forecast projected fiscal year numbers. I would think this software would be a worthy investment.
