Startup Idea: Advanced Softball League Scheduling Software

Startup idea to develop an efficient and user-friendly scheduling software for softball leagues. The software must overcome existing issues such as large scheduling gaps, uneven distribution of games, and imbalanced team matchups. Should facilitate fair distribution of time slots, rotation of days, and balance home/away games.

I was a scheduling coordinator for a softball league and the software we were using was not user friendly and did not satisfy our needs.

We have over 50 teams, in 5 divisions, playing on 4 fields with 4 time slots per field. The program we were using would leave large gaps in the schedule, leaving teams without a game scheduled for weeks at a time.

Another issue was that it would often schedule 2 teams to play each other multiple times in a row and then never again throughout the season. We wanted an even distribution of time slots, days of the week, home/away games, no large gaps, and a balanced occurrence of playing other teams.
