Startup Idea: Cost Categorization Tool for Transportation Financial Analysis

Startup idea to develop a system capable of breaking down transportation costs from SAP into multiple sub-categories such as labor, scrap, depreciation, and carrier freight, aiming to provide better understanding of overall cost structure and support senior management decision making for large, complex consumer product companies.

I am transportation financial analyst for a very large consumer products company. When analyzing our actual costs, we attempt to categorize the costs into several different sub accounts that ideally help us figure out our costs more efficiently. The problem we currently have is that there's no way to split out the overall transportation costs from SAP into the sub categories such as labor, scrap, depreciation, carrier freight, etc.

Ideally we would like a system that can efficiently categorize our costs into sub categories that would help us to better understand our overall cost picture so that senior management can make effective decisions. We are a very complex company with many layers so it would be a challenge, but it feels like there's a way to accomplish such a task.
