Startup Idea: Communication App for Retail Stores

Summary for idea #2388
Startup idea to develop a mobile app that emulates pagers, allowing two-way communication between staff in retail stores. The app would serve as a solution for increasing efficiency and preventing unnecessary movement, particularly in stores without pager systems. It would be cross-compatible with iOS and Android systems.

I work in retail, specifically at Family Dollar. At any given time, there are two people in the store. One cashier, and one manager. The cashier will man the register while stocking the front end of the store, while the manager will be in the back doing most of the stocking. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things I can't do without the help of the manager. To name a few: Open loop card refills, returns, item voids that weren't the one immediately scanned, and I can't void a transaction. So anytime I have to do this, I need to walk to the back of the store and get my manager. Some other stores have pagers for this, but ours doesn't. So, what I propose is an app to emulate pagers, cross-compatible with iOS and Android, being able to ping a specific phone at any time. It'd be very much preferable to having to walk to the back, leaving the waiting customers by themselves at the register. I for one would be willing to pay for this. Heck, I'd pay for our entire team to get them, it would save me that much frustration.
