Startup Idea: Digital Instruction Manual Bank for Retail Stores
I work in a retail establishment that sells a lot of different products, many of which require some knowledge about the items on how to use them properly. A lot of times customers will ask us how to use the products properly, or how to adjust them or assemble them. The majority of times I can't answer these questions because I don't own all the products myself and have no idea. This could all be solved if I had access to a system that stored instruction manuals for all the products we sell. That way I could easily print out an instruction manual for a customer, or just reference it myself and answer the question. I would definitely pay for this software as long as it would be updatable and accurate when new products arrived or came out. This would also be helpful when we train new employees, so they could become preemptively knowledgable about the products we are selling. Most of the time this information is accessible online in some form, but it takes a while to research it and find an answer to the specific question a customer is asking. It would be very nice if all this information was in one place, and it was simple to print out a manual that the customer could take home with them for free. Also, it would make us look more professional if we could answer the questions they have quickly and accurately, or if we could study the manuals in our free time so we already knew the answer off the tops of our heads. Sometimes the only way to answer these questions is to open the box of an unsold product and remove the manual to read it ourselves. But we can't give the customer that manual, and it ultimately damages the new product.
